Owning an Integration End-to-End: From Kickoff to Handoff
What real ownership looks like once nobody's checking your work step by step.
What this session covers
- Ownership means the outcome is your responsibility even for parts you didn't personally build — you can delegate tasks, not accountability.
- Define 'done' explicitly at kickoff, in writing, with the customer — vague success criteria are the single biggest source of scope creep later.
- Build the handoff plan on day one, not day 30 — knowing who supports this after you move on shapes decisions you make throughout, not just at the end.
- A status update that only says 'on track' isn't ownership — proactively surface risk before it becomes a missed deadline, not after.
What mid-level FDE interviews look for
Mid-level candidates are expected to own integrations end to end: estimate timelines they can hit, make build-vs-configure calls, run postmortems, negotiate scope and lead a customer engagement without formal authority.
